6~12 months for the recently shown DW9 coming down the pipeline. I would recommend the latest entry when it comes to DW titles or even waiting. 1000+ gameplay.There isn't really a point of playing the earlier entries other than to see how the gameplay has evolved between them or changed to influence other entries in various side titles.
I usually only go for every other title but its been quite a long time since 8. "But its all just square and triangle" is like complaining every shooter uses the triggers to shoot these days.It's a fun series but in terms of the Dynasty titles most long time fans are not really playing for the story at this point since we know 80% of what will be there and are curious what the new 20% will end up being. At some point I think DW7 they added a 4th kingdom as well, expanding the plot line a bit more.They got pretty good at diversifying the ways characters attack as well in later games which is cool.
